The Monday, April 25, 2022, Edgewood Board of Education Meeting is now scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2022. It will still be held in the District Auditorium at Edgewood Middle School at 6:00 pm.

Dear Edgewood Community,
The location for the Monday, April 25, 2022, Board of Education meeting has been changed to the district auditorium located at Edgewood Middle School, 5005 St. Rt. 73, Trenton, OH 45067.
This location change is needed as we have student participation planned. Examples include the Choraliers, EHS Band and Drumline, EMS Art Projects, ROTC, select SEALS Team members, and staff and student speakers.

Dear Edgewood Community,
We have received notification from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) that Edgewood Intermediate School is awarded the Purple Star Award. Per ODE, "The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. Schools that earn the award will receive a special Purple Star recognition to display on site. A school will be honored with the Purple Star Award if it completes all the required activities, plus one optional activity, listed below. The Purple Star Advisory Board helps decide a school’s eligibility for the award."
This is the second time this award has been given to Edgewood, once to Edgewood Elementary School and now to Edgewood Intermediate School. This renewal of the award allows our school to be a member of the Purple Star Class of 2022.

Come join Edgewood Baseball as they play at the home of the Dayton Dragons. The Cougars will face off against Northwest on Wednesday, April 13 at 4:30pm. The tickets are $10.00 for each seat and a ticket is required to enter the game. With the ticket purchase, you will also receive a ticket for the Dragons game on June 1.

Edgewood School Board Member Honored
Mr. York has been selected as a 2022 Honorary Degree Recipient from the Ohio FFA Association! Each FFA Chapter in Ohio can nominate one individual annually. This is the highest award an individual can receive from the Ohio FFA Association- an organization that serves over 25,000 students! The Ohio FFA Honorary Degree is reserved for outstanding supporters of FFA members across the state.
This year, the Talawanda FFA selected Mr. York, where he serves as high school principal, as their nominee. He was selected as one of 16
recipients! He’ll be recognized on stage at the Ohio FFA State Convention on May 5th! Congratulations Mr. York for your dedication to students across the county!

If you have a preschool or kindergarten student enrolling for the 22-23 school year, please plan to attend.

Two Edgewood wrestlers advanced out of the District tournament held at Trent Arena in Kettering this past weekend. Wyatt Walker competed at 215 lbs and won his bracket with a pin at 2:40. Walker advances to the State Tournament with a current match record of 45-1. In the 285 lb bracket, Radical Rothermel advanced to the championship match before losing a close contest in the finale. He advances to the State Tournament with a record for the season of 43-4.
The OHSAA Wrestling State Tournament will be held at Ohio State this weekend in the Schottenstein Center on March 11-13. Session I (Championship Preliminaries & Consolation) begins Friday at 3 pm, with Session II (Quarterfinals & Consolations Round 2) on Saturday at 10 am and Session III (Semifinals & Consolation Quarterfinals) on Saturday beginning at 6:30 pm. Sunday begins with Session IV (Consolations) beginning at 10 am and Session V (All Finals) starting at 5:00 pm.
Tickets for all sessions can be purchased at OHSAA.org/tickets.
State – All session: lower bowl $75 (100 and 200 levels); upper bowl $55 (300 level)**
Single session: lower bowl $18 (100 and 200 levels); upper bowl $15 (300 level)

Dear Edgewood Community,
The Edgewood Board of Education will convene a work session on Monday evening, March 14, 2022, at 5:00 PM at Edgewood High School, 3045 Busenbark Road, Trenton, Ohio. The Board will immediately go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. They will return to Public Session at 5:30 PM. The Work Session is to discuss: Follow-up on the Curriculum Presentation, District Operations/Finances, and Board of Education Training. No action will be taken.
