The Edgewood Board of Education will be holding an emergency meeting tomorrow, December 21, 2022, at 3:30 pm at the Board of Education Office, 3500 Busenbark Rd., in the Main Conference Room. There will be one agenda item - an overnight field trip. Action will be taken.

December 20, 2022 Dear Parents/Guardians of Kindergarten-Third Grade Students, Due to House Bill 436, school districts are required to administer annual dyslexia screenings to all students in these grades. These requirements will phase in over time however the initial requirements will begin this school year. This initial step will require professional development for our staff. The Ohio Dyslexia Committee has determined that teachers must complete 18 instructional hours of professional development that aligns with the dyslexia guidebook. Every kindergarten through third grade teacher must complete the required hours of training prior to April 1, 2023. Therefore, the district will provide two school days for this mandated training. Students in kindergarten through third grade will NOT report to school on January 13th and February 16th. The school district wants to inform parents early so that arrangements can be made ahead of time. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this requirement. Edgewood Boys and Girls Bowling Both teams are off to a great start. Each team is 3-1 overall. The Boys are 2-0 in conference and the Girls are 1-1. The Girls are led by Annalyse Bunger who has a 163 average and the boys are led by Michael Marts who has a 203 average. Come out and cheer on both teams Monday at 4:00 as they take on Monroe. EIS was abuzz today as Local 12 reporter Kristen Cornett and her videographer Reggi visited Amber’s classroom and conducted interviews. The segment will air Monday, December 12th starting in the 6:00 - 7:00 am hour and repeated occasionally thereafter during the day.
