Aaron Castro

Edgewood High School is pleased to announce that Aaron Castro has been named a National Merit Scholar Semifinalist.  This national distinction places Aaron in the top one percent of high school seniors in the United States. The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability based on their performance on the PSAT taken during their junior year.

Along with the other 16,000 national semifinalists, Aaron has an opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,500 scholarships worth $33 million that will be offered next spring. In February, around 15,000 semifinalists in the nation will be notified by mail that they have advanced to finalist standing.

Aaron has demonstrated his academic talent by taking 11 Advanced Placement courses and 6 College Credit Plus courses at Edgewood High School.  When he graduates in May 2023, Aaron will have earned more than 50 semester hours of college credit. This young man is a well-rounded student who is a four-year member of the Choraliers, Academic Team, and is the senior class Vice President.  Aaron plans on pursuing an undergraduate degree in the social sciences.

We will be honoring Aaron at halftime of the Edgewood football game versus Mt. Healthy on September 23rd.
