EHS students working with two kindergarten students in the hallway measuring how tall they are with ribbon for a gift for their families

As 2023 comes to a close, we reflect on some of the great things that happened at Edgewood in 2023. One of which took place in mid-December at the Edgewood Early Childhood Center. Mr. Root's Career Leadership Class from Edgewood High School has worked all semester to improve their leadership qualities and develop career skills.  According to Mr. Root, they have been talking about "what it means to have a positive attitude, how to have good preparation, how to persevere, and what it means to be respectful and have integrity, courage, and gratitude." Mr. Root continued to explain that they have "also talked about what it means to sacrifice, have compassion, and show responsibility.  We have read a book called The Hard Hat about leadership.  We have had multiple guest speakers talk about leadership and multiple lessons on job interview skills and career exploration."  Working with the preschool and kindergarten students at EECC was their 2nd service project this semester completing 10 hours of service while taking the Career Leadership Course.

Edgewood wishes our students, staff, families, and community a Wonderful New Year!
