Babeck with Overall A Award

The State Board of Education of Ohio recognized Babeck Early Childhood Center, for the second consecutive year, with the Overall A Award. As an Overall A Award winner, Babeck’s report card shows the school demonstrated high academic performance along with building bright futures for students of every background and ability level. Babeck was one of 209 schools, out of 3,685 public schools in Ohio, who achieved an overall summative grade of “A” on their Ohio School Report Card in 2019.

Ohio’s strategic plan for education, “Each Child, Our Future”, is the state’s plan to ensure each student is challenged, prepared, and empowered for his or her future by way of an excellent prekindergarten through grade 12 education.  Edgewood’s strategic plan aligns with this mission. “Our goal is to ensure all students succeed as lifelong learners and productive citizens, through challenging and meaningful learning opportunities. These are distinguished by a dedicated team of students, staff, parents, and community, a safe, well-maintained learning environment, and a climate of innovation,” said Russ Fussnecker, Superintendent Edgewood City Schools.  “We are very proud of our Babeck students, staff, and Principal Jeff Banks for receiving this outstanding award for a second year in a row.”
