Dear EMS parents/guardians, In reviewing a recent school fees report, I noticed that Edgewood Middle School has a large balance of unpaid school fees. On your student's most recent report card, fee information is printed on the top of the report card. If you have outstanding fees, we would appreciate it if you could take care of those fees as soon as possible. The office remains open Monday-Friday during the month of June between the hours of 7am and 2pm. The office will be open on Tuesday's during the month of July. If you are unable to stop by the office, you can pay your school fees through EZ pay which can be accessed from the home page of the Edgewood Schools website, or by paying fees at the board office which is open Monday - Friday from 8am until 3pm all summer. Payment plans for those with large amounts of school fees are available by contacting the treasurer's office. I will be following up with personal communication in the coming weeks for those families with outstanding fee balances, in hopes of taking care of outstanding fee balances before the start of the new school year. Hope you are well and enjoying summer! Curtis Philpot, Principal Edgewood Middle School curtis.philpot@edgewoodschools.net (513)867-3450

The 8th Grade Art Class took a trip to The Cincinnati Art Museum, this past Friday. We viewed and discussed the context of historical and present artwork and events/emotions surrounding each piece. This was a first for many of my students and I am so thankful that I got to experience this with them!

Dear Edgewood Parents, Guardians and Staff, District officials have learned of a national social media “challenge” that is rumored to occur on Friday, December 17, 2021. The challenge is for students to threaten their local schools across the nation. Currently, we are unaware of any immediate threats towards Edgewood City Schools or students. It is always important to remain vigilant when it involves any types of rumors about alleged “threats.” We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously. In addition to having a school resource officer in every building, we partner with local law enforcement at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and Trenton Police Department. Whenever there is a potential threat against our students, staff, or school, we immediately investigate the situation and contact these agencies. As always, if students or families become aware of any threat to our schools, we ask that they inform a school administrator or alert local authorities. Our district also has a hotline that parents and students may access at any time. The Stay Safe, Speak Up Hotline 1.866.547.8362 or click on https://www.publicschoolworks.com/SHL/studentReport.php?di=110 I want to remind parents and students about the significant consequences if such conduct occurs. Suppose any student is found to be engaging in any of these behaviors. In that case, we will follow the code of conduct, which will result in severe disciplinary action and intervention by law enforcement. Please use this as an opportunity to speak to your student about the appropriate actions to take if they hear or see something of concern. Thank you for helping us keep our schools safe. Sincerely, Russ Fussnecker Superintendent - Edgewood City Schools

Next week EMS will be doing a Winter Spirit Week (see attached flier). To continue to make our school a better place each spirit week day has been paired with some small act of kindness. We ask that even if you don't participate in spirit week at least try to perform the act for the day. Those who do participate will receive PBIS points from your 1st period teacher. Dress code still applies and winter themed hats may only be worn on their day (Friday). If you have any questions see Mr. Philpot or Mr. Stapleton
