Welcome to Edgewood Middle School for the 2023-24 school year!  My name is Curtis Philpot and I am honored to serve as your principal!  As a graduate of Edgewood High School and former teacher and assistant principal in the Edgewood City School District, I am looking forward to helping guide your students on their path to greatness!

I look forward to meeting you in person and building strong and positive partnerships that will not only build upon the long-standing traditions of EMS, but that will also support our students, our staff, and our families as we look toward the future.  At Edgewood, “We are Cougars!”  Our motto embodies our school community as a whole, as Edgewood Middle School is made up of a diverse group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds who strive for excellence TOGETHER.  We are ALL committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is conducive to student learning, and one that empowers our students, our staff, our parents, and our community.  It is only through a strong, shared commitment between parents, students, teachers, support staff, and administrators that our students can flourish and receive the quality education necessary for success in today’s society.  Together, we will create an environment that will allow our students to be nurtured, to grow, and to reach high levels of academic success.  Together, we will foster a building culture that celebrates the hard work of our staff members and our students while emphasizing the importance of RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, and KINDNESS!
