EIS recognize students during October - Blindness Awareness Month

We proudly recognize this month Leo Ramirez-Leon, a 5th grader in Mrs. Hurst's class. Leo is learning to read and write in Braille as he is blind.  Many people in Leo's life have helped him along the way - therapists, teachers, aides, and friends. He is closely bonded to his aide, Mrs. Amy Todd.   Leo comes from a very loving family.  His dad, Daniel Ramirez, and his mother, Yolanda Ramirez-Leon, own and operate El Barzon.

As Edgewood Intermediate School has promoted October - Blindness Awareness Month, the students write their names in Braille.   The hallway has been lined with their names and information to educate the children about blindness and Leo.  We are so proud of Leo!  Thank you to Leo's family and all his team!!!!
