The track & field program opened its season last Saturday at the Northwest Lane 4 Invitational. Record-setting performances were led by senior Kaylin Lawson, whose 5'6 high jump ranks #3 in Ohio and #30 nationally; Kaylin went on to win both the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and finished 4th in the long jump, and junior sprinter Chloe Meyer who finished runner-up in both the 100 and 200m dash setting a new school record of 26.98 in the 200, which presently ranks #20 in Ohio. Sophomore Jessica Moore won the shot put. Sophomore Abbi Fall finished 2nd in the 1600m run and 3rd in the 3200m run, just 4 seconds shy of the school records in both events. Other scorers included: 800m run Ashlynn Williams; 3200m relay (Rylie Homan, Ashlynn Williams, Jovana Lambe, Lily Pfeiffer); 800m relay (Catherine Austing, Caitlyn West, Heidi West, Julia Hahn); 400m relay (Catherine Austing, Caitlyn West, Heidi West, Lydia Herb); 1600m relay ( Rylie Homan, Chole Meyer, Ashlynn Williams, Lily Pfeiffer); Discus, Emily French. The team scored in 15 of 16 events, finishing runner-up in the team standings.
The boys were led by senior Aaron Frazier, who finished runner-up in the 200m dash, long jump, and high jump; teammate Sam Everson finished 2nd in the shot put; junior Riley Payne finished runner-up in the 110HH and 3rd in the 300IH. Freshman Braden Sullivan finished 4th in both the 110HH and 300IH. Other event scorers included: Stephen Bright 800; 3200m relay (Austin Shock, Shane Helton, Logan Howell, Stephen Bright); 800m relay (Brick Barker, Adrien Masman, Connor Cooper, Braden Fitzwater); 400m relay (Tavion Crosby, Olathe Seigla, Brick Barker, Dustin Carpenter); 1600m relay (Braden Fitzwater, Connor Cooper, Braden Sullivan, Riley Payne). The team finished 5th overall in the final standing and scored in 12 of the 16 events.
