We are informing you that we received a call today, Thursday, September 3, from another staff member from the Edgewood Middle School who reported they tested positive for COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus. This staff member was last in the building on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. We have notified the individuals in the impacted classes and areas in the building. We are sharing this information with the rest of our families and staff so that everyone is aware of this situation. We will also post this information on our website to provide our Edgewood community with this news. 

We want to assure you that we are working closely with the Butler County General Health District (BCGHD) to guide our response regarding this situation. We are taking action to clean and disinfect the affected areas in Edgewood Middle School. 

As a reminder, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19.
