We have been notified that a staff member at Edgewood Middle School tested positive for COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus. This staff member was last in the building on Tuesday, August 25 and has not returned to EMS since that time. We are sharing this information with our EMS families and staff so you are aware of this situation. We will also be posting this information on our website to provide our Edgewood community with this news.

We are working closely with the Butler County General Health District (BCGHD) regarding this situation. At this time, we have no reason to believe that our staff members or students were exposed to this individual. Exposure is defined as being within six (6) feet for more than fifteen (15) minutes (with or without a mask) of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is a presumptive case of COVID-19.

In addition, we have taken action to clean and disinfect the affected areas in Edgewood Middle School.
