Lunch Price Increase graphic

Effective with the start of the 2020-2021 school year, the price for a school lunch will increase by .10. This increase impacts students as well as adult lunch prices in our five Edgewood school buildings. The new lunch price will be: $2.85 for students in Grades 1-5; $3.10 for students in Grades 6-12; and $3.60 for adults.

The increase does not impact the cost of breakfast, the purchase of milk, or the cost of the reduced-priced lunches for students who are approved for the Free and Reduced Price Meal Program.

This increase is due to a requirement set forth in section 204 of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. It  requires agencies and schools to perform periodic assessments of compliance and reporting on the progress towards achieving the goals of the local school wellness program. The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act requires agencies and schools, who offer the Free and Reduced-price Meal Program to their families, to fund these programs beyond what the Federal government provides.
