Edgewood High School

Gavin Halsey, a sophomore JROTC Cadet, was selected to attend the Spirit of America Youth Leadership Program at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. This 4-day program is for high school students interested in cultivating a better understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship through thought-provoking and engaging activities. Students participating in the program explore democracy, develop their leadership skills, and engage in issues of contemporary American life. Cadet Halsey has expectations for this upcoming experience, in March, which includes developing his ability to lead as well as developing strong values in order to become a productive citizen in his community.
