EES Students hold special "Honor and Remember" flag flown by Team Fastrax on 9-11-2019

On Wednesday, September 11th, our EES students and staff honored Patriot Day in a very special way thanks to Team Fastrax, a local skydiving performance team, & Mrs. Emily Tilton. Two flags were flown over the school while all eyes watched. The American flag was from a 9-11 commemorative flight that Team Fastrax performed over Ground Zero, in New York City, in 2008. The second flag, the Honor & Remember flag, was created to honored all the military members who lost their lives because of 9-11-2001. This flag was signed by the parents of those military members who died rescuing the victims of 9-11. Here's a video of one of the skydivers delivering the American flag to EES.

Later in the day, over 18 safety and rescue vehicles were on display for our students to see "up close and personal".  Local law enforcement and 1st Responders from the following departments graciously shared information with our students and staff about their profession, the vehicles, and answered lots of questions.  Thank you to each of these departments for participating in our event:

  • Trenton Police Department
  • Trenton Fire Department
  • St. Clair Township Fire Department
  • New Miami Fire Department
  • Butler County Sheriff Office
  • Monroe Police Department
  • Monroe Fire Department
  • Wayne Township Fire Department
  • Madison Fire Department
  • Seven Mile Fire Department

Mr. Croley and Mr. Sigmon were busy on the outdoor grill preparing lunch for all of these brave men and women.  Mr. Croley said, "It is our way of saying Thank You for all they do for our students, families, staff, and our community".

It was truly a memorable experience for everyone who attended. We will never forget September 11th.
