Operation Gratitude packages

EMS selected Operation Gratitude as one of their community service projects this school year. Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that provides care packages to those serving in the Armed Forces, first responders, veterans, wounded heroes and their caregivers, new military graduates as well as military families. EMS students and staff donated over 650 items for the care packages, handmade 500 paracord bracelets, which are extremely useful in survival or emergency situations, and wrote over 150 Thank You cards and letters of encouragement. Students and staff assembled the care packages and shipped them out before the end of the school year. The total weight of all the packages exceeded 100 pounds! This school-wide project was part of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) initiative launched this year. Student participated in multiple projects and activities which reinforced Edgewood’s Character Traits and expectations throughout the year. This project reinforced the district’s mission to ensure all students succeed as lifelong learners and productive citizens, through challenging and meaningful learning opportunities.
