This is the time of year that is dear to me for many reasons. First, during November and December, I get to spend quality time with my family and friends. I realize that I should take the time more often, but like so many, I get caught up with the demands of my daily life, that I sometimes forget what is really important. Getting together with family and friends, talking, laughing, sharing food, telling stories--just enjoying each other.
And good food!! Most who know me know that I love good food, especially when it is combined with good times!
But besides those traditions, I love all the special events at our school, events that spotlight our students' accomplishments. They sing, dance, and perform. They collect hats, scarves and mittens for children in need. They make donations of food to families who find the holidays especially challenging. They sparkle with the anticipation of seeing relatives and Santa Claus, with the joy of giving and receiving gifts.
I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and that you create memories for the holidays to come!
