Upcoming School Year Pay-to-Participate Program
Dear Parents,

Here is information concerning the pay-to-participate program for grades 7-12 that will be in place for the upcoming school year.

The cost is $495.00 per player, per sport, with no family cap for all sports. For Marching Band/Vocal the cost is $300.00 per activity with no family cap. There is no charge for regular classes, example band class which is taught during the day. For theatre the cost is $108.00 per activity with no family cap. If the levy passes on November 2, 2010 the money will be refunded less a $50.00 activity fee (for sports/ban/vocal, or a $20.00 activity fee for theatre). The activity fee will be in place to stay for the remainder of the school year and beyond.

Band, vocal and theatre fees are for extra curricular activites, which are activites that have a supervisor with a supplemental contract and generally require transportation. Students who take band or vocal for a class but do not participate in activity such as marching band are not charged the pay-to-participate fee.

On the following dates and times a $100.00 non refundable deposit will be due for all fall sport teams:

  • Wednesday, July 28, 4-7 pm at the high school gym– Boy's and girl's soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis and band.
  • Thursday, July 29, 4-7 pm at the high school gym – Football, cheerleading and cross country.
  • Friday, July 30, 4-7 pm at the high school gym – Make up day for all sports for people who were not able to attend on the 28th and 29th

All other sports and activites will pay after the start of school. Date, time and place to be announced.

Payments can be made by cashier check, money order, cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express. Please make checks payable to Edgewood City Schools.

If you have two or more children participating in separate sports or band you can pay for all of them on the same night.

For sports that make cuts, if your payment day is before teams are finalized, players who get cut will have 100% of their money refunded if they don't make the team.

If you suffer a season long injury we will prorate your refund based on the number of contest completed vs. the number left. You must have verification by doctor or our certified trainer.

All other players this is a non refundable deposit. Only exception is passage of the levy on November 2, 2010.

You can continue to make payments up to the first contest in the sport your son/daughter is participating in. Payment in full is due by their first contest.

After July 30 payments can be made at the central registration office on Monday, August 2, 9, and16th from 11 am-7pm and on Tuesday-Friday from 8 am-3 pm for the rest of the month of August. The central registration office is located at Edgewood Middle School

On all payments you will get a receipt verifying your payment. Please keep the receipt for your records.
Paying to participate does not guarantee any playing time in any sport. Coaches/Director will be working with your son and or daughter in a very positive way, but under no circumstances does paying the fee constitute playing time, special spots on the field, etc.
