EARLY CHILDHOOD PRESCHOOL
AND KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM:Beginning next year, the preschool and kindergarten programs will be housed at Babeck Elementary – 100 Maple Avenue in Trenton. Principal Jeff Banks will lead Babeck Elementary, which will also serve first grade students.
Edgewood City Schools accepts open enrollment students in both of the following programs.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
The preschool program is designed to serve typically developing and special needs children ages three (3) to five (5) years of age. The purpose of the program is to help children to develop social skills as well as kindergarten readiness skills. A child must be three (3) years old on or before August 1, 2011 to be eligible for the program.
The program meets five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday, with morning and afternoon sessions. Children will be placed in a classroom based upon their age, their developmental and educational needs. The program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.
There will be no bus transportation for the preschool program. You will be responsible for transporting your child to and from school.
SPOTS ARE LIMITED SO EARLY REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED!
TUITION/FEES
For the 2011-2012 school year the tuition amount for the preschool program is
$210.00 per month (with a one-time materials fee of $25.00). Tuition must be paid one month in advance to keep your child's spot in our program. If tuition becomes one month overdue, the child will be withdrawn from the Early Childhood Preschool Program.
REGISTRATION
Preschool registration packets are available at Bloomfield Elementary – 300 North Miami Street and the Central Registration office located at Edgewood Middle School – 3400 Busenbark Road.
REGISTRATION DATE:
When: April 18th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Children must be five (5) years of age on or before August 1, 2011 to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten. The program is half-day with children attending either an AM or PM session, which is determined by area of residency in the district.

Kindergarten registration packets are available at the district's three elementary buildings and the central registration office.

BUS SCHEDULES FOR KINDERGARTEN:
Bus schedules are posted on the district's website in mid-August. You will complete a transportation form as part of your registration packet. If you need to make a change before school starts you must submit this change to the Babeck Elementary office by August 12th. After this date changes will not be made until after the first full week of school.

OPEN HOUSE
Open House for kindergarten/preschool parent(s) and students will be held on August 18th during the school day. If your child attends AM kindergarten you will be assigned a morning time. If your child attends PM kindergarten you will be assigned an afternoon time.
