Edgewood City Schools
Located in Butler County, Ohio approximately half way between Cincinnati and Dayton near the bordering cities of Middletown and Hamilton, the Edgewood City School District is one of the top public education systems in Southwest Ohio. Quality education and affordable living in a rural environment with easy access to major cities makes for a setting that students, parents and staff find irresistible when choosing their choice in education. Beginning in 1970 as a consolidation of the Trenton and Shiloh School Districts, Edgewood has experienced 38 years of quality education.
The district stretches over 57 square miles and serves the communities of the Villages of Jacksonburg and Seven Mile, and the City of Trenton. Edgewood has 370 district employees serving 3,802 students who attend school in one of our five new or recently remodeled buildings. The district has three elementary buildings, one middle school, and one high school.
Little growth and static enrollment dominated our district from its inception in 1970 through 1990. We are now
experiencing flight from the cities; since 1990 we have seen a steady increase of students. Enrollment has increased the last fifteen years from a low of approximately 2,300 students to our current number. Many of the new residents will tell you the reason they moved to our community was because of the schools.
The 2008 state report card has Edgewood meeting 28 out of 30 performance standards making us a district of "Effective" status.
